What’s this all about simple tasks? http://wp.me/p5y43M-3z

You are done! Well, almost. If you are here congratulations, today’s writing should be a breeze. Your probably sick and tired of your work, but who cares, you’re almost done! All you need to do is wrap everything up. Have them go back to their friends. Arrest the criminal. This is what is call “falling action” and it is the only time in your book to have it. Today you will end your book, so put in every little happy moment you can. Good job. YOU MADE IT!

The climax is now! Have your characters fight at full force. Today you can show all of your character development. Have them strategize and plan. Make them both strong and smart. Have them pull from their weaknesses so that they may be strong. All the hate toward the villain should come out. Show the truth.  At the end of today, your character should win.

Day 41s simple task: Day 28 of a book a month

Rise up! Make the strong. Your main character should overcome their fear. They need to accept the information throw at them and move forward. Have them throw more information back at the villain. Here is a great place to put in the moral of your story. The character should start fighting back. Maybe weakly at first, but tomorrow they will bloom into a beautiful flower.

Day 40s simple task: Day 27 of a book a month

Plot twist! Is there anything your main character didn’t know about? Who are their parents? Are their friends really their friends? Is the love of his life really a killer? Throw questions at your reader. What information can your villain give out? Is there no cure? Has your character done something wrong? Don’t be afraid to throw in some fake information too. Everything you wrapped up yesterday should come undone.  This should be the weakest point for your character, but tomorrow they will rise back up.

Day 39s simple task: Day 26 of a book a month

The trek to the hidden lair can be a long one.  It can scare the bravest of me but it cannot weaken their resolve. Let dough creep in and then start the struggle against the last obstacle. Today is the day your readers have been waiting for. Put in all your drama from now on.  If there is anything left for your character to wrap up, do so now. That includes all the emotional baggage that they have been carrying around.  You should also get ready to wrap up, any scenes you want to put in outside of the climax can only happen now.

Day 38s simple task: Day 25 of a book a month

Today we think about theme again. You can fully express your theme now.  Tell us what lesson you want us to learn. You can tell us right out if your want. Have the theme carry your character to victory. You will also want to start wrapping up sub plots. We are at the beginning of the end. Before your character goes into the final battle have him wrap up his conflicts with others and give a final address. The only thing left to do is wrap up the big, over arcing plot.

Day 37s simple task: Day 24 of a book a month

What’s this all about simple tasks? http://wp.me/p5y43M-3z

Today we begin building towards the climax. We need the character to know at this point what the last thing they need to do is. If that’s kiss the groom or kill the king is up to you. They should be mentally preparing themselves for the final event. They should be ready to fight with words or with swords. Today you build them back up. Mend the wounds, allow them to recover as much as they can. Have them let go of their fears. Say good bye to their family and friends if they think they will die. Today is a day about resolve, and you need as much of it as your characters do.

Day 36s simple task: Day 23 of a book a month

What’s this all about simple tasks? http://wp.me/p5y43M-3z

We are getting close to the end.  You should start thinking about how it will all resolve. Your character should be different than how they were at the start of the book. Now is a reat time to show them having developed mentally. Whether they have learned to love or they now know the meaning of life, they have grown as people and you can show their new attitudes. Have them rant about it. Preach their understanding. Or write one meaningful sentence that shows how they have grown. Have them look back on their past and want to do things differently. Show them the error of their ways. Make them feel like real people.

Now that your main character is motivated to act, make sure the villain is prepared to face this force. If the villain was mad at one person before, have them upset with an entire race now. Give them a reason to hate all of humanity. What would make them hate life in it’s entirety? They should believe with every ounce of their soul that they are doing the right thing. They need to be driven to take down the greatest threat. Give the villain a position of power. Give them a bomb. Give them everything your main character wants so he may tempt them. Threaten your villain like he was the hero.

Day 34s simple task: Day 21 of a book a month

What’s this all about simple tasks? http://wp.me/p5y43M-3z

Give your little people a reason to keep going in this world. What is at stake that makes them overcome their fear? Why dose your character stand back up to face a fight they have already lost? Can you have more that they need to save? Is the universe at risk? Have you threatened the lives of all the people whom your character loves? Make sure the stakes are high enough that your character puts his own life at risk. If they aren’t ready to make the biggest sacrifice then threaten them with a larger issue. Your character is no longer trying to find their dog, they are trying to stop a mob boss from blowing up an alien civilization. Write your character being forced to be brave.
